A comic titled, "Weird Little Situations In My Life Which Are Most Likely Due To My Autism But Are Probably Still Relatable" abbreviated to the unholy acronym "WLSIMLWAMLDTMABAPSR" By Queen Of Squiggles (oh hey that's me!) First Panel - A cute character wearing a wizard hat gets a message on their laptop that says, "Hey this work is urgent, can you get it done fast?" Second Panel - The character's eyes are shown with fire in them and the text below reading, "Hyperfocus Activated" and the associated stats of "plus 500% efficiency" and "minus 90% max HP" Third Panel - The character is shown exhausted and sweating with a small pile of packages behind them. Fourth Panel - the laptop reads the message, "Hey, great job. But I wasn't asking you to hurt yourself doing it?" The character is seen collpased on the floor sobbing

Do you think Chinese companies will pick up the slack when it comes to consumer RAM and SSDs?

Community iconc/asklemmy@lemmy.ml by
HiddenLayer555@lemmy.ml

I personally never really considered “Chinese knockoff” a negative term because those products still fill a niche that is beneficial to the consumer, usually very low cost entry level offerings the “brand name” companies don’t bother making. Now that the “brand names” have straight up said they don’t intend on making entire categories of consumer products anymore, this could be a great opportunity for Chinese companies.

So recently been spending time configuring my selfhosted services with notifications usint ntfy. I’ve added ntfy to report status on containers and my system using Beszel. However, only 12 out of my 44 containers seem to have healthcheck “enabled” or built in as a feature. So im now wondering what is considered best practice for monitoring the uptime/health of my containers. I am already using uptimekuma, with the “docker container” option for each of my containers i deem necessary to monitor, i do not monitor all 44 of them 😅

Has a rude/bad person ever helped you?

I would say this is helping because it’s allowing me to learn a language and connect with people but this dude “Jordan” (not his real name) is known as a bad person at my school. He is half German and thinks he can hate Jewish people and act like a Nazi but because he speaks German at home, it allows him to actually speak German and say rude things without people knowing.

For those that do creative projects, how do you get past choice paralysis? If you’re a writer and have 5 book ideas you feel are pretty good, how do you choose the best one to move forward with?

[Discussion] Have you experienced drift or other issues with your original Steam Deck thumb sticks? Also, people who have replaced their thumb sticks, how has your experience been?

It’s pretty common to hear about people replacing their thumb sticks to avoid drift in the future, but I almost never actually hear about people having drift or other issues with the original OEM thumb sticks (outside of the occasional person who broke their stick by dropping the Deck).
